WRITER'S GUIDELINES
Radiance Publishing specializes in anthologies—collections of chapters by various authors with different life experiences, writing styles and points of view. What these writers have in common is
- a positive view of life
- the belief that we each have the answers we need inside ourselves
- the courage to share our stories and hard-won wisdom to uplift ourselves, our readers and society.
We are committed to improving the world, one word at a time.
Storytelling is one of humanity's oldest arts. Stories touch us and teach us in ways dry text cannot. When you have lived through a challenge and come out the other side, you bring with you wisdom that cannot be learned any other way. Yet, you can convey some of that wisdom to others by telling your story. It doesn't matter if you don't know a comma from a semi-colon. Everyone has a story to tell. A well-told story has a beginning, middle and an ending. It engages the senses, like watching a movie—only the scenes are painted in words. Vivid descriptions, dialogue, and drama are all powerful elements in telling your story.
When you write from your heart, you write brilliantly. Writing with integrity touches your emotions and that communicates to the readers' emotions.
BUSINESS MODEL
- There is absolutely no upfront cost to become involved.
- Consider Radiance Publishing your midwife. Radiance Publishing will work with you to birth your story and do all the labor to bring the book into being.
- After that, it's all yours. You retain all rights to your work. Reprints are permitted as long as you include, “This chapter first appeared in book title, copyright date, Radiance Publishing.”
- As the author, you may buy copies of the book at a discount to keep, sell or give away. You may promote the book in any way you like.
- You receive income by selling copies of the book. The suggested retail is printed on the book. Some authors sell above retail to cover postage costs.
- Radiance Publishing uses print-on-demand technology. Our publisher is www.lulu.com. You order directly from them.
- The upside of print-on-demand is that you can purchase as few or as many copies of the book as you like. (Order volume discounts for over 100 copies through Radiance Books.)
- The downside of print-on-demand is that price-per-book is high and postage costs keep going up.
